The Serious Stuff…

Nick’s clinical interests primarily include individual styles of therapy that highlight and support our mind’s connection with our body. He is interested in incorporating curiosity, mindfulness, and somatic-based modalities to facilitate a deeper connection with our sense of self and the challenges that we face on a daily basis. This includes challenges with addiction, anxiety, depression, identity, trauma and phase of life challenges. Nick primarily approaches therapy with a person-centered, humanistic and existential lens. It is his belief that we know ourselves best, no matter what life throws our way. With this foundation, he strives to help grow a space around curiosity in order to facilitate a deeper understanding of our own context and world. He finds his foundations in mindfulness-based approaches that incorporate body-based somatic experiences into the therapy session. Above all, his role is to help deepen the connection we have to our own traditional and inner wisdoms.

Nick sees clients out of our Ankeny location.

The Fun Stuff…

Nick has a diverse array of personal and professional interests that span multiple areas. Although the range is wide, each reflects his commitment to the joy of learning and self-growth. His personal hobbies include practicing yoga and meditation, as well as reading, writing, and storytelling. In his free time, he enjoys playing Dungeons & Dragons with friends, playing video games, tinkering with technology, and hanging out with my partner, Emily. They have two dogs, Bennie the Bernedoodle, and Piper the Australian Shepherd. Each are 4 and 6, respectively.
